Stay away from earth.. it's got humans... and they are contagious
Nice! What about a very slight greyscale overlay to emphasize the height differences? I've done that before and it worked pretty well. I'm talking something on like single-digit opacity and a blend mode, so it's nearly subliminal. As for the settlement, I'm not sure how to approach it since you map's already *done*. Looks so nice in its natural state it'll be a shame to mess it up with an infestation of home-building creatures!

Love the look.
For the settlement, why be above ground? One small building to protect the entrance to the "mine" and then a second map of the interior.
No messy buildings to distract from the natural enviroment.

I think that helps a lot. I use that technique in most maps I make...and may well have learned it from your city tutorial, which is one of the first I tried when I first joined this forum. I know I used your method to make my hills look like hills on my Haibianr map. So. Have some rep for that and for this very nice map. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the settlement.

Every time I see something new from Pasis I go "Squeeee!!!"
This is no exception.
Amazing!
The only thing I'm not sure about are the boulders in the middle. Are they supposed to be forming a waterfall, or just boulders sticking out of the river? If it's a waterfall, then maybe adding some foam and circular ripples would do the trick. But that is only if you want to be super realistic. It's jaw-dropping as it is!
Thank you all for all the comments. I finally got something done and added the small settlement and tweaked the river etc. I really had hard time creating the tents and bridges ect as had not done any of those before.
