Default First Map (Modified Sarah Wroot Style)

Yeah, another one of these "first maps", it's not going to blow you away.

Fictional world for a novel I'm procras writing, quick and dirty with generic CC3 assets.

Black and white version makes it less obviously like a reversed western Europe. D'oh. Might re-do it with better assets when I have time to waste.

Hello Coinneas, welcome to the Guild!

Nice map, good colors. You might consider shading your mountains a bit, but otherwise looks fine.

Fine map and good colors! As Chick said, I would only add some light & shadows, mostly on the mountains.

    Thanks for the comments.

Unfortunately shading wasn't really an option, I just plopped down the Sarah Wroot style pack's default assets with minimal photoshop on my part.
Bizarrely, the thing that was the biggest pain in the butt was the placename text (which took forever to get de-uglified) and the names themselves, since like the true OCD emperor of übergeekdom I needed to make the names make sense and then translate them into not one but two fictional Latin-based languages (beat that one, nerds). The main reason for this map is name reference guide so I don't get writer's block when I need to think up a fictional placename.

Hi Garth, can you start your own thread to post your map. This is Coinneas's thread and it gets very confusing if there are two maps in the one thread. Once I see you've started your own thread, I'll remove these comments. Thank you!
