Default FREE - Bogie's Mapping Objects Released

Probably everyone here in the guild recognizes the name of master mapper Bogie, who among other things is a community leader here at the guild and an Admin at the Dundjinni forums. For years, Bogie has been making all kinds of objects (symbols) and textures (fills) for Dundjinni and then sharing them with us here and on the Dundjinni forums.

I suspect that we all have had the experience of seeing one of Bogie's postings with his graphics but not getting around to snagging it immediately. Then, a few months later when we're busy making a battlemap, a dungeon plan or whatever, we think back on these objects from Bogie, decide that's exactly what we need and … oh, oh! … we didn't snag it so, we have to spend a lot of time searching for it.

To solve this problem, we of the Vintyri (TM) Project began talking with Bogie recently about taking all of his works that have no copyright issues and compiling them into large add-ons that integrate fully into Dundjinni, Campaign Cartographer 3+ and Fractal Mapper 8.

We closed beta testing of this free art pack, Bogie's Mapping Objects, on Friday and now have released it for general usage. Bogie's Mapping Objects is a collection of some 1,300 objects or symbols and more than 130 textures or fills, all by Bogie. The collection is released under an End User License Agreement (EULA) that allows personal and commercial usage.

Those who would like to see samples of work made with this collection need look only at the recent maps posted by guild members LadieStorm, Lorelei and Mouse, all of whom were among our betatesters for Bogie's Mapping Objects. The floor plans above are from the Horn & Stars tavern by author S D McDaniel, online name LadieStorm.

I want to thank Mark for taking the initiative on this project and the untold hours compiling & sorting everything and then converting the basic .png format into something that is compatible with FM8 & CC3. Also a shout out to the Vintyri Project for hosting these large downloads.
