Default October 2017 Challenge: Quest of the Drunken Master

Trying to go in a different direction with this, both idea wise and mapping wise. So this will be hand drawn pen on paper instead of digital. If time permits I might color it digitally - but for now I'm going for black and white Which also means that I can't start mapping until the shops open tomorrow and I can buy some pens. First time for everything

Looking forward to seeing it, Tilt! We just came out of one challenge, and jumped full throttle into another one... What does that say about us?
Like a thief in the night
    she comes with no form
    yet tranquility proceeds
    the accursed storm...

As they say "You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps" LOL ... don't think you have, I usually work digitally, but felt like a change/challenge

Nice! I like the start of it Of course, I can't much of what is what yet, that will come with the details.

I do have one question/suggestion for your river... and remember, this is a NON visual artist speaking, so take what I say/ask with all the due diligence it deserves (meaning not much! lol) but your river, is it supposed to be man made? I only ask because it seems a little too... straight, to uniform. But then again, I don't know much either, when it comes to hand drawings... my stick figures even look ugly! lol

always appreciate questions, they have a tendancy to unearth thinks you hadn't thought about. ... Two rivers come together from north going south, they meet up just before the city. As they reach the city, they are man made - ie. the sides are reinforced by stonework to guide the rivers through town and to 1. be able to dock along the canal and 2. to use locks to get ships down to the lower part of the river. (the square in the middle of it), the locks are build where before there was a waterfall.
